Currently, there is one full-time vacancy at the OASIS Senior Center as a Recreation Coordinator in the Recreation & Senior Services Department.
OASIS offers many educational and recreational classes, special events and a variety of social services that are aimed at helping older adults live an enriched, active and independent life.
About the position:
This position will develop and implement special events at the OASIS Senior Center.
Manage outside rentals, develop contracts, work with potential renters, and schedule staff.
The ideal candidate possesses excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.

SCHEDULE:
This position may work a 5/40 or 9/80 schedule upon supervisor approval.
RETIREMENT:
The City offers an excellent benefit package and membership in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS).
The retirement formula is based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS and the employee is required to contribute 11.
5% of pay toward the retirement benefit.

Experience & Education and License/Certificate A combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying.
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Two years of experience in developing programs and activities OR at least one year working directly with public recreation agency or program.
Education:
An associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation administration, human services and development, public administration, or a related field.
License/Certificate:
Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.
